This is the official launch event for Social Media Club Des Moines, a new chapter of the international Social Media Club.

Join fellow business owners, professionals, enthusiasts, and users as we celebrate our chapter's launch and look ahead towards what the club will offer the Des Moines area as a community resource for social media.

RSVPing for this event will give us a good estimate for attendee numbers, and we would appreciate your help with gauging numbers.

Also, if you haven't done so already, please create a profile on the Social Media Club Des Moines website so our members can get to know you and what you'd like to learn about social media.

I'll be in Des Moines March 10 looking to do a preview to South by Southwest Tweet up. Me and Rick Mahn are road tripping. In fact you gave me the idea to have it at the Raccoon River, I'll be calling them later today to try and reserve the room.

Since I won't be there tonight, thought I'd at least make a small contribution here with a post that got more than a few retweets from Social Media Today on the Five Ways Social Media Can Generate Leads

I was in Des Moines for the SMB at Mars Cafe and that was a great turnout so I'm thinking you in Des Moines will be the next hot bed of social media ideas and case studies.
