I tend to forget what this url is (Don't blame me if I don't use Bookmarks) but would be nice to have .com that points to this url.

Thanks for the suggestion Joe. I've been thinking about this for awhile, but I was waiting to find out which abbreviation we would use. And actually, now that you just mentioned this, I just went out and bought smcdsm.com and smcdsm.org.
However, I'd still like to hold off for a bit before deciding on which domain name to use for the club as the main URL. We might even want something like socialmediaclubdesmoines.com just for the keywords. In fact, now I've just bought the .com and .org of that one too. ;)
I suppose we should do a poll to vote on which one becomes the main domain and which ones become the redirects.

Well, if you are into cryptic names, you could try using a "tiny" URL: http://tiny.cc/WWXrs for the home page.

Haha. This would probably be even worse than what it is today, eh?
It seems like SocialMediaClubDesMoines.com would be great as a base domain for its keywords, but I think we would then employ smcdsm.com as a redirect. That way people don't have to type in the entire domain name if they don't want, they could just use the acronym. It would also strengthen the recall and memory of the acronym we are using, which is helpful on Twitter or in tagging content.
