Social Media Club Des Moines

If you get it, share it

Alright gang..we're getting cranked up for a series of events hoping to enlighten your Social Media experiences, but I'd like to know from you all some great places where we can congregate!  Whether they're free charge, minimal charge or maybe a big rental fee!  Eastside, Westside...you get the drift~I'll take em all!

A few places I have on my radar are:
  • Country Inn & Suites~Clive
  • Des Moines Botanical Center~Des Moines
  • Mars Cafe~Des Moines
  • TimberPine Nursery~Earlham
Please..let me hear it!  Anyplace that you like..or think you would like!

thanks!
Katie

Good friend of mine just opened Ciao in West Glen, the old Graze location. I bet he would like to welcome the #SMCDSM gang. I can connect you if this make sense.
oohh Pete. that could be a great opportunity!

Would love to hit up those companies using Twitter/Facebook to celebrate their embrace of SM!

Thank you

Centro-South Union Bread Company

Science Center

Water Works (outdoor venue in the summer)

Grays Lake (outdoor venue in summer)

(how about contacting the Dm Partnership about putting the word out there for assistance in sponsorship for venues?)
Impromptu Studio and Foundry Coworking
It would have to be a road trip, but I am sure that I could swing hosting something at Tassel Ridge (I will have to approach the owner if interested) but wine sampling would be involved!
Impromptu Studio is always my go to place. I see that Josh has already mentioned it but I wanted to get my 2 cents worth in.
Dewaay in Clive, All Play, The Tavern in WDM on 50th, Drake University and the Hotel Pattee in Perry. The Hotel Pattee's general manager reached out to me on several occasions to let me know that if we do an event out there he would provide some free beverages and snacks. It's in Perry, so maybe we do a Saturday morning seminar of some sort out there sometime. The downtown public library and for that matter all public libraries usually have meeting rooms we can use.
Valley church has a lot of space that we could use if we weren't looking for drinks, I also will agree with Claire about All Play, they have a new meeting center in the basement. What about the fairgrounds? Also, I don't know about this, but 7 Flags or SportsPlex West might have something for events. This isn't my strongest suit since I was amazed and dumbfounded by Foundry Cowork when we were there. LOL.
What about the fabulous Van Meter High School?? :~)
I'm with the State Fair and it would be fun to do something on the Fairgrounds! Lots of different venue options size-wise.
Nice idea Emily!!! Can you get us some Twitter on a stick or Fried Facebook?
Haha - LOVE it. If SMCDSM comes to visit, I'll see what I can do.
