If you get it, share it
I know, I know. Marketing can be totally free now with Social Media.
But let's be honest: I am not that cool.
Chances are nothing I do or say is going to suddenly go viral. I will have to get my word out the old fashion way. Pay for it.
I need advertising that is geographically targeted to those that have too much time on their hands. Facebook Users. Posting ads and getting the desired effect takes a lot of tweaking but here is what I have gathered so far in my limited experience.
Lessons Learned with Facebook Ads
#1 You get better bang for your buck with sponsored stories ( featuring facebook posts or pages) than you do with trying to push an external URL.
So even if you are looking to promote an external link, make it a post.
#2 Limiting Ads to within Social Reach "Your friend likes this"
You get better click thru rates. It is like an Ad combined with a referral.
What are your top lessons learned with Facebook? Facebook Ads? Or Social Media?
