Background

A bit of my history relevant to computing and social media (historically frequently referred to as “community computing”) …

I started a computer bulletin board service (BBS) twenty years ago (Pre-WWW) to connect Midwestern computer owners to allow software sharing, discussion groups, and e-mail. That company morphed into a non-profit ISP – Shawnee Free-Net catering to schools and non-profits.

Since then, I’ve been a systems/network engineer/web designer for government, healthcare and for-profit entities throughout the Midwest.

In 2010 I started a consulting company to provide technical support services to home and business users in the Des Moines metro region.
