About Mike
I am the Social Media Manager at Kum & Go, a convenience store chain headquartered in West Des Moines with 430+ locations across the Midwest. My role involves creating and executing our social media strategy in all communications, including engaging with our target audiences and translating anecdotal data into measurable results.
When not at work I spend time watching sci fi movies, sipping tea, listening to music, and reading blogs. My wife and I enjoy eating good food and spending time with our families.
Although I started this network on Ning for Social Media Club Des Moines, I am far from the only person involved in organizing the group. I've taken a few of the initial steps to get the club moving, but it is the members of Social Media Club Des Moines that are driving the future of this group.

SMCDSM - Getting ready to roll after first planning meeting
On Tuesday night (12/15/2009) this week, I was joined by 14 other members of SMCDSM to begin planning for the future of the club. The meeting date and time were selected through a process of elimination, and anyone was welcome to attend.
